About Really Garlicky Co

In 1999 we recognised there was a market for premium garlic. Our Really Garlicky story therefore grew from a husband and wife team of traditional farmers who felt the need to diversify in order to safeguard their livelihoods. After two years of trials, the Really Garlicky Company was launched in 2001 and began selling at farmers markets.

In 2001 the crop was 1.5 acres. This year we will be harvesting around 20 acres in July, grown near Nairn in the Scottish Highlands.

The variety Porcelain Hardneck Garlic was ideal because it has a much sweeter flavour than more conventional grown varieties and suited our Highland climate. It also has large cloves and a skin which is easy to peel. Really Garlicky Garlic does not leave the bitter aftertaste consumers so often associate with garlic.

Really Garlicky Garlic is grown, packed and distributed direct from the farm hence giving us full traceability over the crop. We are members of the ‘Assured Produce’ scheme and ‘LEAF Marque’ the environmental scheme.

We supply Waitrose throughout the UK with our garlic bulbs and Waitrose Scotland with our ‘Really Garlicky Aioli’ and frozen ‘Eazy Garlic’ as well as a large number of independent outlets UK wide. We also attend a number of events across the UK sampling our Garlicky Goodies! Follow your nose and you will find us!

Gilli is a cook trained at Leiths Cookery School in London. So all our recipes are tried and tested – usually by everyone on the farm and in the office!
